Flying Fijians lay platform to face Wales
Speaking to Village sports, FMF Flying Fijians captain, Mosese Rauluni said that despite the loss his boys have learnt alot from the Australia game this morning, which has laid the platform for the showdown against Wales.
The FMF Flying Fijians made up of young players put up a good performance against Australia in their third Pool B match this morning although they lost by 55 points to 12.
Isoa Neivua and Aca Ratuva scored the only two tries for Fiji while Australia ran in seven tries to secure the top spot in the Pool, setting up a likely quarterfinal against either England or Tonga.
The FMF Flying Fijians/Wales match kicks off at 3am on Sunday morning followed by the Scotland/Italy match at 7am.
Meanwhile, rival World Cup coaches John Connolly and Ilie Tabua have both called for island entertainers Fiji, Samoa and Tonga to be rushed into the Super 14 rugby competition.
Connolly and Tabua stressed the urgency needed in aiding development in the Pacific after Fiji showed good signs but were ultimately outclassed by the Wallabies 55-12 this morning.
Wallabies coach Connolly felt the three island nations had built a compelling case for admission to an expanded Super 14 through their World Cup form.
Connolly adds that the IRB have got some real issues in what to do with the island countries, as they need resources and pobably to play in the Super 14.
In the other match played this morning, the All Blacks defeated Scotland by 40-0 and there will be no World Cup matches tomorrow.
