“We have a set of backs that can match up a tier one team.”

Those were the words of Vodafone Flying Fijians Head Coach John McKee after announcing the final 30 member squad.

McKee has named some big names in the backline including Glasgow Warriors halfback Nikola Matawalu, Crusaders wing Nemani Nadolo, Leicester Tigers center Vereniki Goneva, Clermont wing Napolioni Nalaga, Chiefs wing Asaeli Tikoirotuma, France-based Waisea Nayacalevu, Sireli Bobo, Top 14 top try scorer Metuisela Talebula and Timoci Nagusa.

He said it will be easier to work with them for the test match against the Italians.

McKee said the overseas based players are expected to arrive this weekend.

Former skipper Mosese Rauluni and Alifereti Mocelutu are the assistant coaches while Aseri Rokoura is the Manager.

The Vodafone Flying Fijians will be captained by Akapusi Qera and they will play Italy next Saturday at the ANZ Stadium before playing Tonga at Churchill Park in the Pacific Nations Cup on the 14th.

They will then take on Samoa at the ANZ Stadium on the 21st before meeting Cook Islands a week later at Churchill Park for the World Cup qualifier.
