The Flying Fijian 15's rugby team last night tasted another thumping defeat at the hands of the Wallabies who handed them a 49-3 loss in Canberra.
A lot was said during the lead up to the one-off Test match with the Fijians trying to win on the Australian soil again - after a lapse of 56 years.
Australia's performance in the first half lacked the clinical finishing and cohesion the Wallaby coaching staff would have hoped for.
The early chances went to Fiji as they used chip and chase tactics to destabilize the Wallaby defence.
Australia's full back Kurtley Beale struggled to hang onto the slippery ball and wing Sireli Bobo almost scored.
The Wallabies led 14-3 at halftime but in the second half they crossed the Fijian try line on 5 occasions for the 49-3 win.
Fiji captain Deacon Manu said they would not make excuses as they lost to a better side last night.
His Australian counterpart, Rocky Elsom said they expected the Fijian boys to come out firing in the first half but his boys' defence stood out throughout the game.
Fiji will now prepare for the Pacific Nation Cup next Saturday against Japan at Churchill Park.
