Vodafone Flying Fijian halfback Nikola Matawalu believes they can make an impact at next year's Rugby World Cup.

Fiji is currently in the pool of death alongside host nation England, Australia, Wales and Uruguay.

Matawalu said despite Fiji dropping in their ranking to 13th place, he believes they have seen some improvements in the players.

Speaking to Wales Online, Head Coach John McKee said Fiji’s World Cup preparations will include a five-week training camp with an important competitive build-up seeing them contest the Pacific Nations Cup alongside Samoa, Tonga, Japan, the United States and Canada.

McKee said they have been together for a short time for the Europe tour, and when the 2015 Rugby World Cup kicks off, Fiji will be ready.

The Flying Fijians will take on USA at 7am Saturday in their last test match.

In other matches this Sunday Italy will play South Africa at 2am, Scotland will face Tonga at 3.30am, Ireland will host Australia at 5.30am, Wales will take on the All Blacks at 6.30am, England will meet Samoa at 8am while France will host Argentina at 8am.
