The FMF Flying Fijian 15's rugby team, put up an impressive performance in the 3rd quarter final this morning before they went down by 37 points to 20 to the South African team.

Fiji were behind by 13 points to 3 at half-time and were just getting back into the game with a penalty to Seremaia Bai for the score-line to read 13-6 when the side suffered a big blow when bone crunching tackler Seru Rabeni saw a yellow card for a shoulder charge on Butch James.

Fiji was reduced to 14 men and the Springboks took the opportunity to take a 20 points to 6 lead.

The Mosese Rauluni led side surprised every rugby fans around the world even though they were a man down, the side managed to score two tries from Filimoni Delasau and Sireli Bobo and force the score-line to a 20 all draw with 15 minutes of play remaining.

Fiji attacked the South African line for about another 5 minutes but was unlucky not to score a try although Ifereimi Rawaqa cane close to score in the corner.

South Africa scored two more tries and a penalty to cement their spot in the second semi-final and will now wait for the winner of the Argentina and Scotland 1/4 final.

Fiji captain Mosese Rauluni was proud of his side performance in the game and believes that they have shown the world that tier 2 rugby nation can now match those in the tier 1 nation.
