The Flying Fijians have touched down on the home soil of the 2011 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand this afternoon.

The Samu Domoni Jnr coached side is the first team to arrive in New Zealand and as expected they were welcomed with a Maori war dance the “Haka” at Auckland Airport’s International Terminal.

The side will head straight to Pukatani where they will stay for a week before moving to their RWC home base in Tauranga.

21 players in the 30 member team will play in their first ever RWC while flyhalf, Nicky Little is the first player to be playing in the Fiji team to be playing in his 4th World Cup.

Fiji is in Pool D with defending champion, South Africa, Namibia, Wales and Samoa.
