Flying Fijians Start PNC On High Note
Fiji won the match by 34 points to 17 over Samoa this afternoon at Churchill Park in Lautoka. They led 12-0 at the break with tries from Mosese Rauluni and Timoci Nagusa. Taniela Rawaqa converted one of the two tries.
Fiji again started the second half on a high with tries from Taniela Rawaqa, Ifereimi Rawaqa and Timoci Nagusa while Taniela converted his own try and Ifereimi's try in the second spell. He also kicked a penalty in the second half.
Samoa started late into the match and scored three tries in the second half but Fiji maintained the lead and ended the match with a 34-17 bonus points victory.
Fiji team captain Mosese Rauluni was overwhelmed with the victory.
Fiji will next week play their second match against the New Zealand Maori at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
