The Flying Fijians are now out of contention in this year's IRB Pacific Nations Cup competition.

Ilivasi Tabua's side will finish in third place even if they lose to Tonga this Saturday in Nuku'alofa.

They currently lie in third place with 10 points despite going down 13-50 to Australia A yesterday.

Australia A leads the competition with 19 points while New Zealand Maori is in second place with 17 points after thumping Japan by 65 points to 22 on Saturday.

The win for Australia A and New Zealand Maori now sets a virtual Grand Final this Sunday at the Sydney Football Stadium with the winner will be crowned champion of this year's IRB Pacific Nations Cup.

Samoa lies in 4th place with 5 points, so is Japan with 5 points in 5th place and Tonga at the bottom of the table with 1 point.
