Flour and Sharps prices to increase
The PIB has announced that effective from midnight tonight, the price of one kilograme of flour will increase from 90 cents to 93 cents per kg, and the price of one kg of Sharps will increase from 90 cents to 94 cents.
However, PIB Officer Buitiviti Biulailai confirms that due to realignment of the packaging costs, 1 kg and 2 kg packs of flour and sharps will sell at a lower price.
The price of one kg pack of flour will decrease from $1.38 to $1.02 a decrease of 36 cents and 2 kg pack of flour will now sell at $1.89 cents which used to cost $1.96 a pack. Anyone who purchases 4kg packs will have to fork out more money with the price increasing from $3.86 to $3.88, 10kg packs will now cost $9.40 compared to the current price of $8.88.
The same applies for sharps with the price of 1kg pack of sharp to also decrease from $1.38 to $1.03 and the price of 2kg packs will decrease from $1.96 to $1.90 while the price of 4kg packs increases from $3.86 to $3.89 and 10kg pack prices go up from $8.88 to $9.44.
All packs of flour and sharps from 4kg and above will cost more.These prices are applicable to the towns and cities and prices are expected to vary due to cartage and delivery costs in other centres.
