Flooding expected as high tide approaches
DISMAC's Viliame Tuimanu said people should not get complacent as heavy rain continues in the highlands.
The National Fire Authority’s sub officer Suva Epeli Roko said they are on full alert as they expect more flooding when the high tide comes in.
Several houses are under flood waters along Baulevu road as flood waters are increasing rapidly with the high tide coming in.
Advisory councilor Koroqaqa Vijay Nath said more than 20 homes located along the Rewa river are under flood waters.
DISMAC has confirmed that 90% of Navua is still flooded as flood waters continue to recede.
Over 700 people are taking shelter at 8 evacuation centers alone in Navua.
According to DISMAC, over 2,000 people are now taking shelter at 60 different evacuation centers around the country.
