As Tropical Cyclone Mick ploughs through the Southern Lau group, flood waters continue to rise along the Rewa river as the high tide reached its peak at around 5:30 this morning.
DISMAC's Viliame Tuimanu said people should not get complacent.
Tuimanu said people are advised to utilize the evacuation centers if they do not feel safe in their current location.
Baulevu, Koroqaqa resident, Vijay Nath said water has entered more than 10 houses in the surrounding areas with levels rising.
Nath said 35 people are right now sheltered at their evacuation centre in Baulevu High School.
Waila resident Rajesh Prasad said they have to move to double storey houses as water has started to enter houses in low lying areas.
