Flood waters in most parts of Sigatoka town have receded.

Police confirm there is still high tide and slight rainfall is still continuing this morning.

There was about 1 foot of water in the Sigatoka Police Compound, Police Barracks and the Provincial Council Building, Laselase, Lawaqa, Nasau and Korotogo. Police say all roads in Sigatoka are open to all traffic. There are no reports of damages as yet.

Meanwhile, The Nadi Weather Office has called on people to take precautions as heavy rain is expected to continue for the next two days, which is expected to cause flooding in the low lying areas.

Weather forecasters confirm a trough of low pressure is currently over Viti Levu which is slowly moving eastwards.
