Raju said these flood protectors will be like hurricane shutters however used during flooding to save shops from getting flooded.

Meanwhile, he said they have had a series of meeting with the Primary Industries and Lands Minister on issues about how to protect Nadi from future flooding.

He said issues talked about were the re-diversion of the Nadi river, dredging of the river and building dams which he said is progressing well.

Raju hopes that funds will be provided by the government for the completion of the projects.
