Flood Waters Recede in West
ASP Jayanti Lal advised people to take precaution when using the roads.
In Nadi:
Police said the Nadi Back Road is open, however, people are advised that it is under 1 feet of water while the Namotomoto road is also open but under 1 feet of water as well.
Nadi police said these roads can be accessible with heavy goods vehicles adding Nadi town will be open to traffic from this hour as flood waters have receded in the main areas.
In Sigatoka:
Police said the weather is clear for the time being, however, they said the Kavanagasau and Valley roads are still closed, while the Raiwaqa bridge and the Yalava Flats are under 1 metre of flood waters with the main road in town accessible.
In Rakiraki:
Police have also revealed that floodwaters have receded in the area apart from the FSC and Qalau roads.
The town has been given the all-clear by police who said people can now access the area as the road has been opened.
In Ba:
Rain has ceased and police said that the strong winds have also stopped.
In town, flood waters have receded and people will be able to go through town.
The Namosau road is still under 2 feet of water as well as the Koronubu Flats and the Yalalevu Flats as well.
The Ba to Lautoka road is also clear.
