In the Central Division, flood waters are slowly receding in Nausori after the Rewa river rose rapidly over the last few hours.
DISMAC Operation Centers Pejilia Tubui said it was a close call as the Rewa river rose some six feet in a short time.
However, areas near the river are still experiencing flooding and a resident from Sawani Gautam Prasad said they are moving around to advise people to move to higher ground.
Lautoka, Taiperia, Nagi-roso, Nasowata, Buabua road and Lovu areas are flooded. In Sigatoka, water level at the Semo River is rising.
Meanwhile, 10 houses in Waila remain under flood waters and the families had to take refuge at their neighbors on higher ground.
