Flood waters have started to enter some parts of the Labasa town area and Police Spokesperson Atunaisa Sokomuri confirmed that water is entering the shops along the main street.
Sokomuri also confirmed that more people are now moving to the 22 evacuation centers are activated in Labasa.
Salome Naeqe, who lives in the Main street in Labasa confirms that the surrounding areas are now flooded and they are making arrangements to move the evacuation center.
It has also been confirmed that many people are stranded between Natovi and Nabowalu as they were travelling to the jetty to catch a vessel bound for the islands.
It is also raining heavily in Savusavu. Police Deputy Director Operations Erami Raibe said this has affected about 20 houses in Dawara.
