A flash flood warning is now in force for Vanua Levu and the people in the Northern division to take precautions now as a number of rain bands have gathered up in the North.
Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad said people in the North and even Northern Lau should not be complacent and should learn from what happened in the Western and Eastern division over the past few days.
Prasad said by later today other areas including the western division will also be affected.
Meanwhile, there are now 7,188 people accommodated at the 100 evacuation centres around the country. 67 people are in two evacuation centres in the North, 5,472 people in 61 evacuation centres in the West while 1,649 people are living in 37 centres in the Central Division.
Senior DISMAC official Aisea Quminakelo called on the people in the North not to leave things to the last minute as the weather conditions will definitely worsen later today.
