As we enter into the second night of continuous heavy rain, a flash flood warning remains in place for the central, eastern and northern division.
A stern warning from the National Emergency Operation Centre to people living around low lying areas to take precautions.
Acting Director DISMAC Akuila Quminakelo said although the low pressure system is moving away slowly, flooding of low lying areas is still expected.
Nadi Weather Office Director Rajendra Prasad said that rain is expected in some parts of Fiji including the northern division, Lomaiviti, Taveuni, Suva, Navua and Nausori and eastern parts of the larger islands and people still need to be alert of flooding.
He said the weather is expected to improve tomorrow.
Meanwhile, for the moment it has stopped raining in Sigatoka and flood waters have started receding.
