The Nadi Weather office warns of possible flooding of low lying areas as a Tropical Depression currently lies between Rotuma and Fiji is expected to cause continuous heavy rain in the Eastern and Northern parts of the country.

The Duty Forecaster has confirmed that the Tropical Depression lies to the North of Fiji and is slowly moving southwards.

The Weather Office said it is too early to say at this stage whether the system has potential to develop any further and they are closely monitoring the system.

With heavy rain forecast for Suva, Navua, Nausori in the Central and Labasa and Savusavu in the northern division, people are advised to take precautions as flooding of low lying areas is expected.
