The flag raising ceremony and the singing of the national anthem will be reintroduced into all schools in Fiji.
An Education Ministry circular sent out yesterday requests school heads to observe the flag raising ceremony and to allow all students and teachers to recite the oaths and sing the national anthem.
Interim Education Minister Filipe Bole said the ministry had in the past issued circulars to schools regarding the flag raising ceremony.
Bole said it is a concern that some schools are not following the previous instructions.
He stressed that the ceremony would instill in students a sense of patriotism and civic and national pride.
