Police have charged the two Vietnamese fishermen for allegedly stabbing three crew members in Suva last week Monday.

Assistant Police spokesperson Corporal Suliano Tevita confirmed the two were charged with “act with intent to cause grievous bodily harm” after they managed to find an interpreter.

Another suspect was released from custody after police could not find sufficient evidence against him.

He was flown back to Vietnam on Friday.

The two Vietnamese fishermen are alleged to have been drunk during the incident and had just returned from a drinking party when an argument erupted which led to the alleged stabbing inside the fishing vessel.
