Police have questioned and released two boat owners for fishing without a license while one boat owner was taken in for questioning after he was found fishing outside the designated boundary.

A boat was confiscated in the Kaba waters outside Nausori after authorities discovered that the fisherman had no license to fish and sell his catch.

In Lami, a group of fishermen were taken in for questioning after Police, Navy and Fisheries officials discovered that the fishermen were fishing outside their boundary. The group was from Veisari and was given a license to fish in the Suva area, however they went outside their boundary and were arrested by police.

In Navua, officials also confiscated a boat after it was discovered that the owner had no license at all.

Police have warned members of the public not to breach the conditions of their license and anyone found doing so will be taken to task.
