First witness takes stand in Tuisolia case
It is alleged that between 21st October 2004 and January 21st in 2206 Nadi while being the Chief executive used the official credit card for personal reasons and did not enter it into the company's account books.
The first witness took the stand today was Sanjana Mishra a Financial Accountant of Nasoso, Nadi joined AFL in 1999 got promoted in June 2003.
Mishra told the court when questioned by FICAC lawyer of her job description said she was in charge of the payroll payment and revenue function to ensure effective management.
FICAC Madhwa Teenakoon asked Mishra how the credit card statements were being handled, to which she answered that the statement would come to AFL under Tuisolia's name after which he would identify which was official and unofficial business.
Mishra added that the next step would be for Tuisolia to pay for any unofficial expenses and she would do a follow-up.
Mishra added that AFL's bank was ANZ and they would always question the delay in payment however she told the High Court that she did not have the authority to question Tuisolia on the late repayment adding that the delays would only happen when he was abroad.
Cross examination continues this afternoon.
Meanwhile Presiding Judge Justice Sitambaram-pillay Thurairajah earlier highlighted in court that the trial is expected to last for three weeks.
