The first boat carrying relief supplies for the affected residents in the North will reach Labasa this hour.
This has been confirmed by Commissioner Northern, Colonel Inia Seruratu.
Colonel Seruiratu added that they will continue their damage assessment reports in the North today.
Meanwhile, three Navy vessels are on their way with RFMF Engineers, Government officials as well as relief supplies to the islands of Lomaiviti, Moala, Matuku and Totoya, while another vessel will cater for the islands on Northern Lau.
Meanwhile Australian aid will today be delivered to parts of Fiji that were hardest hit by Hurricane Tomas.
A Hercules aircraft from the Australian defence force arrived in Suva last night carrying eight tonnes of aid.
Judith Robinson from AusAID who is based in Suva told the ABC that aerial surveys have only conducted preliminary reports.
She said they saw houses damaged and inundation from the sea.
Aerial surveys will continue this afternoon.
