The first ever magazine in the Fijian language the "Vitian" was launched by former Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka at the Tanoa Plaza in Suva today.
The Publisher Frank Robana-kadavu said the word Vitian is an ancient name given to indeginous Fijians and they have tried to revive the name through the magazine.
He said the idea to launch a magazine came to him in 1996 when he was studing in Australia however he was convinced to go ahead with the project after the events of December 5th last year.
A magazine in Hindi is also being considered to be published soon.
