The First Light Taveuni sevens side has created the upset of the day at the Fiji Women’s Crisis Center Redrock Sevens tournament by defeating Army Red 19-7 in their pool match at Ratu Cakobau Park.
First Light Taveuni has shown improvements after reaching the last elimination round of the Marist 7s last weekend.
Tournament organizer Malakai Yamaivava said Tokatoka Westfield Babas, Wardens Green and Blue did not turn up today.
Looking at some of the results, Army Red thrashed Sorokoba 40-12, Red Rock beat Flying Fish 19-12, Police National beat Ratu Filise 24-nil, Uluinakau Babas beat First Landing 10-5 while Tabadamu Blue beat Nawaka 17-7.
The Quarterfinals, Semifinals and finals will be played tomorrow.
