Diwali celebrations turned into tragedy for a family in Waila Nausori last night after their 8 year old son received serious burns while playing with fire crackers and is now fighting for his life at the CWM hospital.
Police Media Liaison Officer, Atunaisa Sokomuri confirms the boy received 60 percent burns and has been admitted at the Intensive Care Unit ina critical condition.
Sokomuri said a team of Police Officers have visited the area and as yet they have no information on the firecracker that the boy was playing with.
He said when the Officers reached the scene there was no firecracker left on the ground.
