A family of eight was left with only the clothes on their backs after their six bedroom house was destroyed in a fire at around lunch time today in Lami.
Acting Chief Fire Officer Qionilau Moceitai said they received a call at half past one today however when they reached Matata Village, the house was fully engulfed in fire.
He said the house belonging to Kusitino Kele could not be saved however fire fighters managed to stop the fire from spreading to nearby houses.
No one was home during the time of the incident and NFA is trying to ascertain the cause of the fire.
