The National Fire Authority is trying to establish what caused the fire near the Sigatoka Sand Dunes causing damage to vegetation on a large scale.
NFA Sigatoka said they controlled the fire on Friday and managed to stop it from spreading to any nearby house or properties.
Fire authorities say large portion of land near the Sand dunes have been damaged and add that say it’s too early to determine how the fire started as it’s a very windy place and the weather is too dry.
People have been cautioned not to start off bush fires.
