A fire completely damaged a concrete structure building housing three flats at the RFMF Engineering Barracks this morning with three fire trucks dispatched to put out the blaze.

National Fire Authority Chief Fire Officer Tupou Saubuliniyau said when they received the call this morning, three fire trucks were dispatched to the scene at Cunningham Road, two from Walu Bay and one from Valelevu.

He said the firefighters managed to put out the blaze adding the fire started after five this morning destroying the contents in the concrete structure.

The NFA said investigations are now underway to determine the cause of the fire.

However, our reporter Paradise Tabucala who was at the scene said families managed to save a few items before the fire got any bigger.

Tabucala said Police investigators are also at the scene trying to determine the cause of the fire.
