A three bedroom concrete house in Caubati Road, Nasinu was destroyed by fire this morning.

An eyewitness Viliame Tuivuna told Village news that the fire started around 11am. He said the house belonged to a soldier currently doing peace keeping duties in Iraq.

According to Tuivuna, the soldier's wife is a nurse at CWM hospital and has five children who all were not at home at the time of the fire.

The firefighters are still at the scene trying to cool the hotspots inside the house. They had to fetch water about 200 meters away from the scene as there was no fire hydrant near the house.

Eyewitnesses say the fire brigade reached the scene fifteen minutes after receiving call of the fire.
