The Suva Branch National Fire Authority has a new fire truck, thanks to Australia's Victoria Fire Authority.
The handover of the $300,000 truck was officiated by the Interim Public Utilities Minister, Jone Navakamocea yesterday afternoon at Walu Bay.
Navakamocea thanked the Australian Fire Authority for the kind donation and added that the new truck will help the people of Suva.
The truck has a 40,000 litre water capacity, with a large fire pump which can discharge up to 2,000 litres of water per minute.
Meanwhile, Navakamocea said the work on constructing a new Fire station in Nadi will start soon.
