An investigation is now under way to determine the cause of fire at the Industrial Art room of a prominent school in Navua.

National Fire Authority confirmed that the ceiling of the industrial art room and a storeroom of Vashist Muni Secondary School caught fire on Friday afternoon when 30 students were in the room however they managed to escape without injuries.

Alarm was raised around 2.15 on Friday afternoon and when fire fighters arrived at the scene, the storeroom was on fire.

However, quick action by National Fire Authority prevented the fire from spreading to nearby classroom.
