Close to 200 students of Valebasoga Secondary School in Labasa will now have to attend classes at Valebasoga Primary School after the secondary school's top floor was completely burnt down yesterday.
School's Vice Principle, Aiyaz Khan told Fijivillage that the eight classrooms that were burnt down yesterday were used by Form 4, Form 5, Form 6 and Form 7 students, who all will have to sit for external exams this year.
Khan said the school management met yesterday and decided that no students should be affected because of the fire.
He has called on the members of the public to come forward and provide assistance to the school as many students who come from poor family backgrounds have lost all their school books.
The cost of damage is estimated around $800,000.
