Police and the National Fire Authority are investigating a case of fire that completely destroyed Aarkay Motors Limited shop in Vatuwaqa last night.

Police have confirmed the fire started around 8pm and engulfed the whole shop within minutes.

There was $300,000 worth of stock inside the shop which had just arrived from overseas. Together with this there were close to fifty vehicles inside the garage that were parked for repairing have been completely destroyed.

The Shop owners believe the fire could have started from the battery shop next door which has been rented by another company.

The owners are now also trying to ascertain as to which items in the shop were insured.

Meanwhile, Police as yet have not ruled out foul play and are working with closely with the Fire Authority to determine the cause of the fire.
