There have been a total of five fires this month alone with three reported in the West in the past month alone.
National fire Authority Chief Fire Fighter Mark Reid said that with the current dry weather spell and the water rationing in place, the Fire Authority had a meeting with PWD to ensure that they were always ready to assist.
Reid revealed that they have started working hand in hand with the Water Supply Department so that they will be able to pinpoint areas where they need to take extra water with them.
However, Reid said the responsibility also lies with the public to ensure that all precaution is taken.
The latest fires reported was the incident at Nadi International Airport on Saturday where the ceiling for the arrival lounge caught fire and in Ba where four people were left homeless after their home was burnt to the ground.
