The organizing committee for the 2015 Pacific Games has said with four weeks to go, only the finishing touches are left to apply to most of the venues in Port Moresby.
The bulk of facilities were scheduled to be handed over to organizers at the end of May with a number of test events scheduled to begin next weekend.
Port Moresby 2015 CEO Peter Stewart said they are not quite there yet but the finish line is very much in sight.
He said most of the work that is being done now is the final installation of some seats and painting.
Stewart said more than 180,000 tickets have been sold for the Pacific Games events so far, with 500,000 tickets available.
Meanwhile, Australia and New Zealand are eagerly counting down to their debut appearance at the Pacific Games in Port Moresby, and are expecting a fierce battle for medals with their Island neighbours.
Both countries have accepted an invitation to enter teams in taekwondo, weightlifting, sailing and rugby sevens, in the first step towards an expanded Continental Games.
The Pacific Games will be held from the 4th to the 18th of next month.
