The late former President and Tui Vuda’s final journey from Suva to his home in Viseisei begins this hour.

The cortege led by the Republic of Fiji Military Forces departs Government House at 9am and will go through the capital city via Queen Elizabeth Drive, Victoria Parade, Thompson Street, Scott Street, Rodwell Road and Foster Street.

At 10am the cortege will arrive at the old Government Supplies building where the draped casket of the late Tui Vuda will be transferred from the Gun Carriage to the Chiefly Hearse.

At 10.30am, the late Ratu Iloilo’s chiefly hearse will start its journey to Viseisei.

The cortege is expected to arrive in Viseisei at 4 o’clock this afternoon, and the casket will be taken to Vunisei, the chiefly home of the late Tui Vuda.

Meanwhile, the Queens road will be open today as the chiefly hearse makes its way to Viseisei.
