One of the leading rugby referees in the country, James Bolabiu could become the first ever Fijian referee to officiate in the Tri-Nations in the near future.
Bolabiu met with the IRB rugby referee's manager Paddy O'Brien about officiating in the Tri Nations and at the International level in 15's rugby but refused to comment on the outcome of the meeting.
Speaking to Fijivillage sports, Bolabiu said he will only comment once his name is listed on the panel of referees but he has a long term goal to officiate at the highest level of rugby.
Bolabiu is currently in Hong Kong to officiate at the Hong Kong 7s for the first time in his rugby career and said he is looking forward to a good tournament.
