The CEO of the Commonwealth Games Federation said he thinks it is unlikely Fiji will be allowed to participate in next year's competition if the country's suspension from the Commonwealth remains in place.

Last week Fiji was suspended from the Commonwealth over its refusal to commit to holding elections next year.

The Commonwealth Secretariat has said the suspension means Fiji is no longer allowed to compete in the games.

The Federation will decide at their meeting next month, if Fiji can send a team to the games in New Delhi.

CEO Mike Hooper said it's unlikely they will be able to compete, unless Fiji's status with the Commonwealth changes.

Meanwhile, FASANOC President Vidhya Lakhan is keeping his fingers crossed that Fiji will be allowed to compete.
