Fiji's new parliament will be moved back to the government buildings.

Attorney General and Minister for Elections, Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum said three confirmed Judicial branches will now move to the old parliamentary complex, that is the Supreme Court, Court of Appeal and Family Court.

Sayed-Khaiyum said in the 2014 budget, $15 million has been allocated for the Elections office and $1 million for the refurbishment of Parliament.

He said work will kick off in the next few weeks at the new location which is accessible to the Prime Minister's office and easily accessible for the members of the public.

The Minister for Elections said the refurbishment will be done to some of the wooden buildings at Government Buildings which will be provided for the offices of political parties.

This will also allow members of the public to easily access the political party offices.

Parliament was moved to the Veiuto location after the 1987 military coup led by Sitiveni Rabuka.
