The Fiji Trade and Investment Bureau believes the biggest challenge facing Fiji today is to create employment opportunities for school leavers.
FTIB chairman Dr Francis Narayan said if this problem is not addressed immediately then the country is heading for trouble.
Dr Narayan added that the recent study conducted by the Asian Development Bank shows the poverty rate in Fiji has increased from less than 25 percent in 1987 to over 34 percent today.
He blames poor leadership in the last 20 years as the contributing factor to the increase in poverty in Fiji.
