A number of questions are expected to be put to the interim Foreign Affairs Minister Ratu Epeli Nailatikau when he meets US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice at the Pacific Islands Forum of Foreign Ministers meeting in Apia Samoa today.

Radio New Zealand reported that top on the agenda at the meeting, which will take place later today is the move by Fiji to cancel elections.

The US Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice told Radio New Zealand that she will try to lend her voice to what have been very strong regional efforts aimed at promoting free elections in Fiji.

She also praised the leadership that New Zealand and Australia have given, along with other countries in the Pacific to try and resolve these difficult issues on Fiji.

Ratu Epeli is also expected to make a short statement at the forum to update the Foriegn Ministers on the latest situation in Fiji and steps being taken to hold general elections.
