The Fiji women’s basketball team remains confident to qualify for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

Team coach Michael Whippy said they have prepared well and will try their best to beat Australia and New Zealand in the Oceania region.

Whippy said winning the gold medal in the Pacific Games has put his side on the right track and they just need one win from two games to qualify.

Fiji will take on Australia in their opening match tonight at 7:40 in Dunedin.

Meanwhile Australia won their opening match last night beating New Zealand by 78-46.
