The community group known as ‘Fiji’s 8th Man UK’ has been inspired to gather and support the Vodafone Fiji 7s team as they head into the England 7s and aim to win the World Sevens Series title for the first time after 10 years.
The group has been led by London residents Lorraine Raiwalui Suka, Koroi Suka, David Borrow and Jamie Bruce.
Coach, Ben Ryan has praised them earlier in the Las Vegas 7s and described them as the “8th Man” on the field.
The UK Fijian fans have also reached their target of selling 1,000 tickets and have been overwhelmed with the support before the tournament kicks off.
Ryan said the support has strengthened the players in the field and the players know they have to do something special for the fans in London.
The UK Fijian community, which is dominated by British Forces personnel and their families, will be joined by fans traveling from France, Belgium, Netherlands, Germany, USA, Australia and Fiji.
Fiji will play Argentina at 9.06pm tomorrow, they face Samoa at 12.12am Sunday and Canada at 3.18am.
The cup quarters start at 9.28pm Sunday, the cup semis are at 1.18am Monday while the cup final is at 4.27am Monday.
