An atmosphere of unity and patriotism was evident at Suva’s Albert Park this morning as Fijians from all walks of life gathered in blue and white to celebrate Fiji Day.

President Ratu Epeli Nailatikau and Prime Minister Commodore Voreqe Bainimarama officiated at the event where a 21-gun salute was given and the national anthem was sung by all.

Some members of the public we spoke to said they were happy to celebrate our 43rd year of independence.
