The Telecom Fijiana side put on a brilliant second half performance to beat Spain 17-12 in the bowl final of the Brazil 7s this morning.
Spain led Fiji 7-0 in the first half but a try from Lavenia Tinai leveled the scores at the break.
Ana Maria Roqica scored the first try of the second half and gave the Telecom Fijiana a 12-7 lead.
Lavenia Tinai came through again with another try to give Fiji the win.
The Telecom Fijian Sevens side went through to the final after defeating South Africa 24-22 in the bowl semifinals earlier this morning.
The women’s side only won one of their pool matches which was against China 33-7.
They lost to Brazil 26-14, England 19-12 and Australia 38-7.
NZ will play Australia in the Cup final.
The next leg of the Women’s Seven’s Series will be held in Atlanta USA on the 14th and 15th of March.
