The Digicel Fiji 7s team will now have go through a tough path to defend the World Games Gold medal in Taiwan today.

The Iliesa Tanivula coached side won their opening two pool games against Hong Kong 26-10 and against Japan 19-10 but lost their final pool match against Argentina by 17-7.

This has put Fiji in a dangerous position although their opponents in the quarterfinal today will be Chinese Taipei, who they can easily beat.

But they are highly likely to meet the favorites South Africa in the semifinal, who remain unbeaten in the competition so far.

The World Games 7s rugby competition's quarterfinal starts at 2pm today with South Africa taking on Hong Kong.

Then at 2:25pm Fiji plays Chinese Taipei.

At 2:50pm Japan meets Portugal and the last quarterfinal will be between Argentina and USA at 3:15pm.
