“I think Fiji and New Zealand are the team to beat in the series.”
That’s the statement from South African team coach Paul Treu ahead of this week’s Japan 7s.
South Africa currently lies in third place in the points standing with two more tournaments to go.
The Springboks playmaker and IRB player of the year Ceil Afrika was injured last week and will miss this weekend’s tournament.
Treu admits that winning the series is impossible now.
South Africa is pooled with Samoa, Scotland and Portugal.
Meanwhile the Digicel Fiji 7s team coaching staff will name their staring line up to face France today.
Fiji will tackle the French at 3.12pm in its first match tomorrow.
The second pool match against Japan at 6.47pm and against England at 10.09pm.
