Australian 7s champion, the Digicel Fiji 7s team and Dubai 7s champion, England will be the top bet to win the Nelson Mandela Bay 7s this weekend.
After arriving in South Africa, England coach, Ben Ryan believes that the two sides that have won the last two tournaments in this leg of the IRB 7s series will be the front runner to do well in Port Elizabeth.
Ryan added that the new format requires most of the players in a team to be used as utility players and for his team although they won in Dubai they are still a long way away from their best form.
England is in Pool A with Samoa, Argentina and USA.
In the quarterfinal the winner and runner up from Pool A will meet with the winner and runner up from Pool D which has Fiji, Wales, Portugal and Zimbabwe.
Fiji’s opening pool match on Friday is against Portugal at 10.37pm.
